Bordercats Looking Ahead to 2013

2012 was both a fun and challenging year for the Tour Bordercats organization. Many of our teams had some great highlights throughout the season while some of our newer teams stepped up and faced the challenges of a first year team head on.  The future is bright for the Tour Bordercats in 2013 and we are anticipating some great things as teams will soon prepare to play in several of the top events once again such as: the TORHS Nationals which will be in Taylor, Michigan once again June 21^st through the 29^th. In mid July the Bordercats will head to Mississauga, Ontario to play in the NARCh Finals. The State Wars crew is once again coming back to the Fieldhouse to host the 2^nd annual Midwest Wars, possibly in March, that date is still being worked out.  Teams will be playing in just about all of the areas’ regional events as well which makes for a busy 2013 tournament season. 

Many of the players will extend their 2013 roller season by trying out for Team Michigan for the State Wars Finals which will be the first couple weeks of August. Tryouts for Team Michigan will be May 18^th and 19^th.

Here are just a few of  the Bordercats highlights from the 2012 season:  

Winter Wars in Feasterville, Pennsylvania

·         BCat 95’s win 10 straight games playing in both the ’95 and ’94 division before losing in the championship game by a goal in both divisions.

TORHS Winter Cup at the Joe

·         BCat Pro team takes 2^nd  losing to the Mudcats 4-2

·         BCat 97 MI team takes 1^st in PeeWee Tier I division with win over BCat 98’s who take 2nd

·         BCat 96 MI team takes 1^st in Bantam Tier II division with 3-1 win over DMS

Midwest Wars at the Joe

·         BCat 01’s win Gold medal in 10 & Under division

·         BCat Pros win Gold in the Elite division and $2500 prize

·         BCat 97 MI take Silver in 14U division

·         BCat Juniors win Gold in the Junior division

TORHS Nationals in Taylor, MI

·         BCat Tykes take Silver in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to the US Select All Stars

·         BCat 03’s win Gold in Atom A division

·         BCat 02’s win Gold in Mite A division

·         BCat 95/96 DET take Silver in Bantam A division losing in OT

·         BCat Juniors take Silver in the always strong AAA division
